The Catalan
Tile
Catalan tiles, the source of inspiration for this collection, are a distinctive feature of the local region. The Catalan tile stands as a valuable testament to our history and traditional way of life from the mid-17th century to the end of the 19th century, becoming an important artistic means of conveying the social information of the time.
The glazed ceramic pattern tiles used here are those that, on their own or in groups of four, form a design with natural or geometric motifs. They were used as ceramic cladding in homes in Barcelona, throughout Catalonia, and across the Iberian Peninsula for ornamental and decorative purposes.
First exponent: Jean Leon Xarel.lo
The first wine of the collection, a limited production, is made entirely from Xarel·lo, the most emblematic white grape of the Penedès region, a hardy variety that is resistant to drought and heat and perfectly adapted to the territory, yielding high-quality, balanced crops.
