Sustainable Ways to Tour Our Vineyards

Wine tourism

We’ve gone three months without any visitors, which is far too long for a Visitor Center that loves having you come to see us. Now, with the pandemic more under control and the ongoing easing of lockdown measures, we have everything all ready to welcome you again and so you can enjoy lots of different experiences. We’re not the same, though, since, in light of the current situation, we have to take health measures that weren’t necessary before. Our essence remains the same, however: We’re not changing, we’re reinventing ourselves so that all the visitors who come see us will feel safe and enjoy all the activities we have on offer.

In today’s post, we’re going to tell you about the activities we offer that are related to sustainable transportation, which will allow you to enjoy our surroundings and region in a healthy, eco-friendly way.

Cruise on an e-bike or glide on a Segway

With this activity, you can have fun and explore the vineyards and nature on an electric bike as you pedal around the numerous paths on the Jean Leon estate. The activity is guided by our staff and it’s definitely the best way to enjoy our property and surroundings in a healthy, sustainable way. There’s also the option to do this activity on a Segway, too. Which will you go for?

Once the tour is finished, visitors can relax on our private terrace while doing a tasting of our four historical single vineyard wines, guided by our sommeliers, and learning about the life of our founder, Jean Leon.

In compliance with the health rules, each visitor will have their own space (chair and table) for the tasting, which will be done in a small group of no more than 8 people. You can find out more and the price of the activities here.

Walking among vines

This activity uses the most sustainable and oldest form of transportation of all: Our own legs! It’s an exploration on foot to discover the amazing story behind our wines, strolling through our estate. We’ll discover the origins of our wines by learning about the historical vineyards, their surroundings, nature, plant and animal life, as we do a tour on foot lasting around one hour. The tour ends on our private terrace to enjoy a tasting of our four prestigious single vineyard wines, accompanied by a “country aperitivo” made using local products. You can find out more and the price of the activity here.

And what about an electric scooter?

This is the coolest means of transportation that’s turned into a trend, especially in large cities. What about using it to visit our vineyards? Sounds good, right? This is a tour for enjoying the amazing views the Penedès region provides us at any time of day and that we’ll round off in the same way as the other activities: with a tasting led by our sommeliers on our intimate private terrace with incredible views of our Vinya Palau vineyard, whose grapes are used to make one of our historical wines. You can check out all the information about the activity here.

The Penedès from the air

Switching from land to air, we also have a hot air balloon option available to visitors. In this incredible activity, you’ll float over the beautiful, one-of-a-kind Penedès region, discovering each of its secrets from a bird’s-eye view aboard a balloon flown by an expert. Once back on the ground, the whole group will go to the winery to do a tasting guided by our sommeliers on our private terrace, surrounded by amazing views of our vineyards. What do you think about these activities? Are you more land or air? Segway or scooter? It’s not an easy decision. If you have any questions, we’d be happy to help!
