Jean Leon has joined one more year the “Biosphere” seal of tourism sustainability, a distinctive that certifies and qualifies our Visitor Center as a sustainable space, which promotes environmental conservation, cultural protection and socio-economic development and it is committed to customer satisfaction.
The Consorci de Promoció Turística del Penedés, the territorial managing body of the Biosphere Commitment in the Penedès, organized the ceremony of delivery of Biosphere badges, in which Jean Leon participated. This commitment wants to extend the culture of tourism sustainability to companies, tourist services and destinations.
Jean Leon and the commitment to Regenerative Tourism
In this edition 2025, in addition to renewing the Biosphere certification along with other companies and entities of the Penedès, we have taken a step further by participating in a pilot project on Regenerative Tourism, promoted by the Catalan Tourism Agency.
For six months, Jean Leon has been one of the 16 companies selected in Catalonia to explore new tools and approaches to generate a positive impact on the environment, promoting the regeneration of ecosystems and local communities.
The closing of the program was held at Sala Waltraud, with a menu at El Celleret and a visit focused on our Regenerative Viticulture project. A special moment in which we also had the opportunity to listen to Anna Pollock, creator of Conscious Travel, whose vision inspires us to continue transforming the way we do tourism.
This new approach encourages us to continue to evolve, with our sights set on an increasingly conscious, connected and regenerative model of tourism.
Our Visitor Center, designed by the renowned architect Domingo Triay, was inaugurated in 2002 and is located in a unique enclave, backed by a film-like history and singular wines.

At Jean Leon we offer a wide variety of wine tourism activities, all promoting a model of non-aggressive tourism, in which visitors can discover the secrets of the production of our wines, tour the majestic vineyards by Segway, electric scooter or Nordic walking, as well as participate in unique activities such as making your own wine or enjoy food and wine pairings.
