“Hotels de Cinema” is back: Jean Leon wines paired with classic films and the best views in Barcelona

Art and Culture

Summer is here and that means it’s time for lots of plans that will make the most of the long days and nice weather. Once more this year, we at Jean Leon, in partnership with Time Out, will be bringing you what has already become a fixture of the summer season: Hotels de Cinema, a series of screenings of classic Hollywood films accompanied by a glass of wine on some of the best terraces of Barcelona’s hotels.

Passion for wine, passion for film

As some of you already know, our relationship with cinema has its roots in our origins. Our founder Jean Leon was a highly regarded figure in 1950s Hollywood, where he ended up becoming the close friend of stars such as Frank Sinatra, James Dean, and even Marilyn Monroe. Born in Santander, Spain in 1928, a sequence of exciting events brought him to Beverly Hills, where he ended up opening his own restaurant, unleashing a passion for wine that would take him back to Spain, to the Penedès region.

The Hotels de Cinema series goes back to the essence of Jean Leon with showings of classic Hollywood movies each Thursday evening until July 25th. First session took place yesterday, June 20th at Hotel Pullman Skipper terrace.
