It\u2019s our special way of paying tribute to our winery founder\u2019s strong links with art and culture. In this sixth edition, the chosen discipline was creative cuisine, with <strong>Quim Casellas<\/strong>, chef at Michelin-starred restaurant Casamar in Llafranc, serving as host.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The guests at the <strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> ViArt<\/strong> were able to get a taste of the gastronomic world and new trends from different perspectives, focusing in particular on the fundamental role that wine plays in gastronomy. The event kicked off in the afternoon with a glass of 2018 Jean Leon 3055 Chardonnay, followed by a conversation between Chef <strong>Casellas<\/strong> and sommelier <strong>Sergi Castro<\/strong> about new gastronomic trends and the vital role wine plays in them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28529\" src=\"https:\/\/jeanleon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/JEAN-LEON_ViArt2019_Quim-Casellas-850x567.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, the Casamar chef prepared a dish live \u2013 Estany de Pals rice with Norway lobsters and seaweed aioli garlic sauce, his restaurant\u2019s star dish \u2013 which was then used as part of the tasting menu offered by the restaurant\u2019s team, paired with Jean Leon wines. The cooking demonstration made way for a full dinner prepared by the Casamar team, served with a selection of Jean Leon wines and led by <strong>Quim Casellas<\/strong> himself and <strong>Mireia Torres<\/strong>, the winery director, who presented the wines chosen to accompany each dish: MS-18, the new wine from the experimental range produced using only the Malvasia de Sitges variety; the 2016 Jean Leon Vinya Gigi Chardonnay; and the 2015 Vinya Palau Merlot 2015.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28523\" src=\"https:\/\/jeanleon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/JEAN-LEON_ViArt2019_Quim-Casellas_Mireia-Torres_Sergi-Castro-850x567.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\r\n<figcaption>De izquiera a derecha: el chef Quim Casellas; la directora de las bodegas Jean Leon, Mireia Torres; y el sumiller Sergi Castro.<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sommelier <strong>Sergi Castro<\/strong> was in charge of bringing the wine together with the cuisine, revealing the secrets behind a perfect pairing throughout the meal. Guests were also treated to live music from the duo of singer Yadira Ferrer and pianist Maria Lilia Cano. The highlight of the event, however, was the tasting of the old vintage of Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre, from the year 2000, in magnum format.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28517\" src=\"https:\/\/jeanleon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/JEAN-LEON_ViArt2019_menu-850x567.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again this year, it was clear that Jean Leon\u2019s ViArt has become an unmissable event for lovers of wine and art, two elements celebrated in the matchless setting of our winery.
