It was a success last year, so we\u2019ve decided to do it again this year: On August 10th<\/sup> and 11th<\/sup>, a group of guests was able to enjoy the magic of the annual Perseids meteor shower from the stunning setting of the Jean Leon winery, in an evening that brings together wine, stars, gastronomy, and music, and that has become a firm fixture in the winery\u2019s event calendar. It\u2019s definitely an experience to please all five senses.<\/p>\n

The night kicked off with a welcome glass of X-16 and SM-16, our experimental wines. Next, astronomer Joan Anton Catal\u00e0 from the Sant Cugat Astronomy Association, who was also with us last year, gave a masterclass on the world of astronomy. It was an enjoyable, fun, and very interesting session where he revealed some of the secrets hidden by this exciting scientific field. Catal\u00e0 specializes in astrophotography, an activity he practices from his observatory in Falset, in the Priorat region, and he is also a pioneer in Spain in the use of astronomy in the business sphere, hosting sessions for businesses and managers combining his business experience and astronomical knowledge, under the title \u201cA space for growing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once we had learned the theory, it was time to put it into practice. Attendees had the chance to use a powerful telescope to get a perfect view of everything from the craters on the moon to Saturn\u2019s rings.<\/p>\n

Following our first look at the stars, a cocktail dinner was served, paired with two of our Single Vineyard Wines: Vinya Gigi Chardonnay 2015 and Vinya Palau Merlot 2013, tantalizing the taste buds of all the wine lovers in attendance.<\/p>\n

The night of stargazing draws a good crowd every year, and our aim is that, over time, it will become an even more well-established event in the agenda of summer activities we offer at Jean Leon.
