<\/p>\nThis is a date circled in red on our calendar. An event we\u2019ve been doing for four years now, and that we love because it combines two elements that have a lot in common and that are also inherent in the life of Jean Leon: art and wine. For this year\u2019s event, we decide to focus on music. We were looking to surprise and excite, so we went for a selection of three different musical genres with bags of personality. Guests had the chance to revisit the hits of Frank Sinatra, sway to the sounds of jazz and soul and be moved by an opera concert set among the oak wine barrels \u2013 all paired with our best wines.<\/p>\n

The first thing the 90-odd guests received when they arrived at the wine center was a glass of Jean Leon 3055 Chardonnay. It was warm out and a glass of young, fresh white wine like this is always a good way to kick off this kind of evening. Jean Leon\u2019s director Mireia Torres was responsible for getting the event under way, presenting this edition of ViArt and welcoming all the artists.<\/p>\n

We began with a performance of Frank Sinatra classics by Xavier Piqu\u00e9 & BCN Golden Quartet, a group that packed out Barcelona\u2019s Palau de la M\u00fasica concert hall in 2007. For this event, the musicians revisited the best songs from one of Jean Leon\u2019s best friends, while guests enjoyed themselves and hummed along to the famous pieces in the repertoire. Following the expressive notes of \u201cMy Way,\u201d there was a cocktail dinner paired with X-15, our most experimental wine, and the old vintage Vinya Le Havre Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2004 in magnum size.<\/p>\n

The informal dinner in the moonlight was livened up with tunes such as \u201cKilling Me Softly\u201d and \u201cOnly You\u201d performed in a jazz and soul style by the artist Aisha Fay accompanied by David R\u00e0fols on guitar, both young talents who have already debuted on stages in Barcelona such as the Palau de la M\u00fasica, the Liceu and the National Theatre of Catalonia.<\/p>\n

The jazz and soul then gave way to a more classical genre, with an opera concert from soprano Gisela Villamajor and pianist Xavier Borja, both trained at the Barcelona Liceu\u2019s Higher Conservatory of Music and former participants in the fourth edition of TV3\u2019s Oh Happy Day<\/em> choir competition program with the vocal group Le Due Donne. The location of the recital couldn\u2019t have been more unique: inside our winery, an ideal spot to enjoy the music thanks to the excellent acoustics provided by the oak barrels. Gisela\u2019s voice and Xavier\u2019s piano were the perfect way to end an evening that has established itself as a benchmark event in the Pened\u00e8s for lovers of art and wine, who year after year come to be amazed by a new artistic theme and a matchless setting.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" This is a date circled in red on our calendar.
